- MLHFM - Linearization of MAF voltage 512x1- Voltage to MAF conversion based on MAF sensor and housing diameter
MLHFM is just the fairly linear MAF table with volts against kg/hr of Air.
- MLOFS - MAF offset. For Bosch MAFs, it should be 200. For Hitachi, 0. Subtracted from the output of MLHFM.
Scale MLHFM (constant throughout scale vs stock!) to get your idle and partial short term fuel trims (STFT) near zero and your WOT AFR to roughly match your requested AFR.
Another good MLFHFM sanity check is to log ps_w vs actual boost at WOT -
ps_w should generally be slightly below actual boost. If it is over, your MAF is probably overscaled, and if you are running the stock MAP and not a 5120[8] hack, you run the risk of maxing out ps_w, which is a bad thing (see below).
If your MLOFS is non-zero (e.g. most Bosch MAF files), you cannot do a simple arithmetic scaling of MLHFM; you must offset it down (subtract 200) by MLOFS, then scale it, then offset it back (add 200).[9] Alternately, you can set MLOFS to zero and shift MLHFM down accordingly, after which you can scale MLHFM arithmetically as usual. Note that MLOFS takes effect after the CPU takes a moving window average of the output of MLHFM, so technically this operation does not yield a completely identical result as stock.
Wide open throttle (WOT) refers to an internal combustion engine's maximum intake of air and fuel that occurs when the throttle plates inside the carburetor or throttle body are "wide open", providing the least resistance to the incoming air. In the case of an automobile, WOT is when the accelerator is depressed fully, sometimes referred to as "flooring it."
Load [ms] = (4/2) x 3,6 x MAF x KHFM /1000 / RPM
- 4/2 is the number of cylinders divided by the number of cylinders being ignited per revolution (4-stroke engine) and the other factors are only for unit conversion.
- MAF (g/s)
- KHFM =MAF/Injector constant
Ld = K * (MLHFM/KHFM)
Approximation of maximum power =MAF/0.8
If you leave MLHFM as stock with a max reading of 673 Kg/hr ( 186.9 g/s), you can add bigger injectors, adjust FGATO, TEMIN, TLST, TVUB and get it running to map it.
Then using a bigger MAF housing in proportion to injectors means the load has shifted and the timing especially will really need lowering for everything above 2000rpm but fuelling should be close. The MAF readings will max out at 187 G/S and not be an accurate reading.
If you change MLHFM so that the MAF reads correctly to say 915 Kg/hr (253 G/S), then the Load (Ld) measured in ms will exceed 12.75ms (the maximum).

Commentaire
